Conflict Bravery History

I created The Conflict Bravery™ Masterclass during my years as a nonprofit executive while simultaneously consulting school districts and leading in movement and organizing spaces — when it occurred to me that organizations needed a structured approach to navigate difficult conversations.

A consistent limitation for all of these spaces was their limited perception of Conflict — they could only see It in the harmful way our society shows it.

As a result, relationships were not nourished, feedback was surface-level, and there was a glass ceiling to the imagination. To see authenticity and honesty stifled in this way was alarming to me, to see the lack of bravery in spaces where bravery was needed the most, in spaces that were attempting to change systemic issues in our world.

How will we be able to confront inequitable systems if we can’t even confront the very people on our team about the things that will help move our work forward, about the things we need from each other to make our relationships have more depth and honesty?

From there, the Conflict Bravery™ program evolved into a program that helped people confront internal conflicts, interrelated conflicts, and conflicts with people and systems outside their community.

What if the way your team has been avoiding conflict… is the very thing keeping you stuck?

Workplaces have treated conflict like a malfunction in the system—something to de-escalate, redirect, or bury so everyone can “get back to work.” Yet the hard conversations we avoid are often the ones pointing most clearly to what people value, where trust is fraying, and what needs to change for the work to be sustainable.

The Conflict Bravery™ Masterclass invites your team to see conflict as a practice of care, not a performance of composure. This isn’t about perfecting scripts or enforcing “niceness.” It’s about strengthening your collective capacity to stay present in discomfort, name tensions directly, and navigate ruptures in ways that protect dignity, sharpen decisions, and keep relationships intact.

This intensive offering is for organizations and teams ready to stop treating conflict as a liability and start using it as a training ground for aligned action, shared accountability, and a culture where people can tell the truth and still belong.

Ready to stop shrinking from the conversations that matter?

For too long, conflict has been painted as the enemy of connection—something to avoid, minimize, or smooth over. But what if we’ve had it all wrong?

The Conflict Bravery™ Masterclass reframes conflict as one of care’s most honest expressions. This isn’t about winning arguments or mastering debate tactics. It’s about building the courage to show up authentically, speak truthfully, and navigate tension in ways that deepen relationships rather than damage them.

This intensive three-day program is for individuals and organizations ready to stop shrinking in the face of difficult conversations and start growing through them.

"The future depends on our ability to connect meaningfully to ourselves and each other."

Life-Affirming Workshop Facilitation Experience

I am still processing the amazing experience Altagracia led us through on Saturday. I’ve even struggled to share my experience with my closest folks because it feels like using words to capture such a transcendent experience takes away from the moment. That was one of the most life affirming moments I’ve had in a very long time. And I really needed it.

Collective Rest and Resistance

My garden experience have been to co-cultivate a place to grow collective rest, so that we can go back to the collective resistance against the harm.

Reclaiming Cultural Practices for Educational Transformation

This was extremely useful for my current work! There were so many community/ancestral practices NAMED that have sat unnamed for so long or erased through colonialism that I needed to rename for my classroom, my community, and myself.

Garden of Gratitude

Feeling gratitude for this garden full of camaradas who I always want to be with me any time I feel or experience hope about what’s possible in our collective lives. Want you to be part of any and all blooming in my life! Want that loving garden-ness to be ubiquitous, especially for all of our young people.

Innovative Group Activities for Deep Connection

Altagracia used an activity for us to get to know ourselves and each other. It was a Mourning/Morning activity that helped me hold space for grief and hope in the same moment and to connect deeply with my peers. This shared activity, to me, embodies the honor of witnessing both the sometimes unspoken grief or hardship we carry and also recognizes the hopes and dreams of our colleagues.
